It's August, August x - [ ... Three days ago, I tried playing Dialtown, because I heard it was funny, but it was lowkey butt. I'm sorry to all the Dialtown lovers out there, but it is not in my humor pen. Maybe, now that I know the writing sucks butt a little and I'm not metaphorically splashed with cold water, I might give it a second shot with me not giggling in mind. It'd feel bad to have a game in my library I never intend on beating ... This isn't to say I could be funnier, because I couldn't. We're both not funny. Two days ago, I finally beat Maliketh after forever ... the months were mostly filled with not playing Elden Ring, but that is besides the point. His first phase has an entirely different approach from his second phase. Staying close and aggressive during the first phase makes it pretty easy after a certain point, but staying far away and waiting for an opening is definitely the way you have to play his second phase, and even then it's difficult to time. Having such a whiplash between the two parts really makes his fight tough ... at least you're immediately rewarded with a sick cutscene though. THREE more bosses until Malenia. My true gamer trials are imminent ... I also found out two days ago that WarioWare has some banging tunes. I need to play WarioWare :B ALSO, ROBO KY IN STRIVE 2026 NO FREAKING WAY. I'M LOSING IT. ALSO 2x, I found out about Withering Realms from Jerma, and it looks like a beautiful blend between Bloodborne, Funger 2, Silent Hill, and Pathologic. I think I'll play it day 1, too ...
Ok, Deltarune, Deltarune. Let me break it up into random anecdotes and adventures of my replay. The theories will be for next time, but those theory notes are over a month old, so if some random evidence came out since then that debunks those theories, then I wouldn't know about it! XD !!! Take it!
I had been watching a video about Keygens when a song played that sounded like the 20 second tune ... well, "KEYGEN," only to find out the song playing in the video was "unreal superhero 3" and that Keygens used to have music paired with them! The song that plays when you buy Spamton's Keygen was a reference all along, and I had no idea. It makes me wonder how many other things in Deltarune are references that I'm either too young or too under a rock to understand or hear about. I hadn't remembered at first, as well, that the song from Undertale was named "It's Raining Somewhere Else," and when I finally realized an embarrassing amount of time later, my mind exploded. I feel like this definitely at least adds huge fuel to the "Sans is from Deltarune" fire, if not downright confirms it. I personally subscribe to it now, especially on top of the confirmation that monsters both bleed and turn into dust in Deltarune, something we see happen to Sans at the end of the No Mercy route in Undertale. We know where it rained now ... this also means the blood stain on Kris's carpet could've been from anyone. I don't want to hear "Kris is evil" or "Kris killed someone" theories, though, please.
Since the release of Chapters 3 and 4, an animation for a certain scene in the Snowgrave route changed a couple times, with the most recent one probably being my favorite. I understand why Toby Fox would've wanted to change it after seeing that it was easy to misinterpret the previous ones, and I feel like the huge cracked thorns of the most recent animation makes the whole scene, frankly, a lot more horrifying. It feels like it's representing how shattered Noelle's mind is now, further pushing how viscerally uncomfortable the Weird Route is. Kris and Noelle are my favorite Deltarune characters, I feel like I could chew on them forever. Their dynamic, both in the Weird Route and the Normal Route, is incredibly interesting, especially if you take in account their relationships to Asriel and Dess as a four member group. Noelle and Kris are some weird uncomfortable gray area between close friends and strangers, and I think adding Kris's possession into the mix makes things all the more strange. Noelle being the only main character who truly knew Kris before they were possessed just really makes their dynamic interesting to me. The angel and devil motifs respectfully as well ... imagine I'm screaming and pulling my hair out. Kris going out of their way to, probably painfully, trudge all the way to Noelle's house to reassure her after Chapter 2's Weird Route hurts my heart. We all suck.
Deltarune really captures the feeling of the "this game is haunted" creepypasta trope through its many, many secrets, but particularly the 1225 secret with the gumball machine in Chapter 3. I feel like Noelle would really like playing Deltarune XD ... Relating to the 1225 secret, there seems to be a lot of references so far about missing or severed hands. It feels like some sort of foreshadowing at this point, pray for my bros! Another thing that feels like strange foreshadowing is the scene where Ralsei feeds Kris the apple, especially because it changes to where they eat the core in the Weird Route. I never thought about it before it was mentioned to me, but Kris is probably really hungry and thirsty. We never feed or water them, and everytime they gain control they drink 6 cups of chocolate milk and eat a whole pie. Also, I still see people say Kris is a stand-in for the player. I sentence everyone who thinks that to 2000 years of playing OFF and Oneshot to understand puppeteer and player vs. player character relationship dynamics in video games. That's not even me being mean, I genuinely just think some of you people played the game with your eyes closed at this point. I'm sorry. No I'm not, you people make me mad!!!!!!! XD
One thing about Deltarune is that everytime I play it, I start drawing and playing the piano a lot more. Kris's piano playing in Chapter 4 is probably one of my favorite moments, Waiting Room and Shop are probably two of my favorite songs they can play. I learned the first half of Lost Girl a little while ago, here is a recording ...
Before I get into the tales from my replay of all the chapters, I was made aware of a whole modding scene for Petz. There's some Noelle Holiday irls out there, people! Someone made Spamton! Urm, but it seems like there's some sourness about it nowadays, which is sad and evil. I casually played some Petz gammes on a Nintendogs DS when I was younger. I should become a real Petz fan and unlock my inner Noelle Holiday. You know, I actually will do or obtain a lot of things because it reminds me of a character I like. I got these little ammo boxes my dad had because they reminded me of Dess XD ... I don't know if this is weird.
Replaying Chapters 1 and 2 after so long felt a bit nostalgic, and I found my opinion on the difficulties for the Shadow Crystal bosses swapped. Jevil was a lot easier than I remember, and Spamton NEO was a lot harder ... I think it might be because I've beaten Jevil more times than Spamton, in which I can't really tell you why that is, because I've definitely played Chapter 2 more times than Chapter 1. Replaying Chapter 3 definitely made it grow on me more. I always liked it, but I REALLY like it now. I LOVE TV! I think I didn't appreciate it fully at first because I was really eager to see what chapter 4 was about, since we didn't really see anything about it in teasers. I think both me and a lot of other people were so caught up in the darker themes of Deltarune over these almost 4 years, that we kind of forgot it was more subtle before Chapter 4. So, I think that made Chapter 3 feel like a "filler" almost at first. I was never disappointed by it, but Chapter 4 was definintely the star to me. Going back after playing from Chapter 1, though, made Chapter 3 feel a lot more like the important bridge between the sillier and more serious acts of Deltaune that it is. It's genuinely a really good chapter that I like just as much as 4 now.
Another thing that contributes to why I like Chapter 3 so much now is that my favorite boss in any game I've ever played so far is in this Chapter, which is the Roaring Knight, the Shadow Crystal boss at the end. I was too lazy to get the mantle and I really wanted the challenge, so I went in quite giddy at how difficult it was going to be, and I was not disappointed! My first run took around 8-10 hours, and I've since beaten it no mantle around 4 more times I think. Urgh, it got nerfed recently, though, it's definitely a lot easier and I feel pretty disappointed by that, but it's still definitely my favorite boss fight I've ever played. Everything about this fight is so perfect: the music, the tense atmosphere, the reveal of the Knight, the implications that Kris is working with them, the implications that the Knight is a Holiday, the difficulty, just so much contributes to the pure HYPE this fight expresses. I love Black Knife, it's for sure one of my top tracks from Deltarune's soundtrack.
Having the fight beatable without the shadow mantle, but very stressed that you SHOULD obtain it despite that, makes me really wonder about the importance of the shadow mantle and how exactly it's going to play into future chapters, if at all. What will be the consequences for getting or not getting the shadow mantle? It's so stressed that you should obtain it that I feel like there's going to be more consequences for not getting it, despite the weird way of obtaining the mantle. Just something to chew on ... I suppose we'll see Xd ... Anyways, upon my replay of Chapter 4, I became quite obsessed with Ralsei. Imagine he's rotating around in my head like a gas station hot dog.
I believe it was this chapter where we really find out that Kris doesn't think Ralsei looks particularly anything like Asriel, and the way they argue against it feels almost like someone arguing how their Sasuke copy OC doesn't look like Sasuke, or something. I really feel like Ralsei has some sort of relation to the Dreemurrs, but not through Asriel, through Kris. As in, he's a character Kris created to feel as if they belong in their family. I feel like Ralsei has no direct relation to Asriel both through the fact that there's obvious romance implied between Kris and Ralsei, and with the fact it has the same issue as the "Kris is the Knight" theory ... in that it's simply just kind of butt writing. There's no grand reveal or twist, it's far too on the nose to really make sense to hide. I really don't think the relationship between Ralsei and Kris is some sort of "You're forcing pseudo incest on this poor teenager, you evil player!" because ... well, some of the romantic moments they have together have no input from the player or is something we are forced to do to progress. Acid Tunnel of Love is a mandatory part of Chapter 2, it wouldn't make sense for Ralsei to be legitmately related to Asriel in some capacity and for the romantic moments Kris and Ralsei have to be a meta commentary, when some moments are not of player choice. The direct comparison Noelle made is weird though, I won't deny that. I won't think anyone is weird for shipping Kralsei, but it's definitely off of my plate for now lol.
I tried fighting Mike and ... it's a very cool gimmick fight, but I got all the way to the end and then died, and I was not going to try again. My throat hurt XD !!!!! The shadow crystal fight for Chapter 4 was really cool, I liked all the foreshadowing and Susie character development we got. Gerson is an epic old man, and getting to spar against him as Susie felt really sweet. Some dialogue in this fight implies that Flower King is the next dark world, which makes me wonder what Chapter 6's dark world will be. We know Chapter 5 is Flower King, and we can presume Chapter 7 will be the shelter, so that leaves the very nature of Chapter 6's dark world ... shrouded in darkness XD ... Maybe it's the hospital, or QC's Diner? It could also be that Chapter 6 is the shelter, and Chapter 7 is the one shrouded in darkness. I suppose we will just have to wait and find out ...
Okay ... that's all brochachos, I'll write about my theories next time, I got schoooool to do. :B ... I found out my teacher is a Homestuck fan.
July 31st, 2025
Blinks eyeballs a little bit like a newborn ... hello lads. I procrastinated on writing this for so long, as I often do even with things I like, that July has seemed to nearly slip through my fingers. I was in the hospital for a little bit this past week, that's where I disappeared off to, I am all good nowadays though. Shoutout to my bro Sage XD !!! I've also been reading a lot of Homestuck with my greatest rival. I'm sure you people have noticed the Homestuck decorations ... I last left off on page 2300, Act 5. I have no idea what the ending is going to be like and I have no theories at all, because honestly I can't even tell you what's happening exactly right now. It's like ... I know what's happening, but I can't tell you. Sorry. There's Homestuck games too, so of course I'll be playing and writing about those. On to all the things I've built up over the past month ...
Sally Face 2 seems to be starting development, a call for artists was posted on Steam a little bit ago. I don't remember if I've ever mentioned that I like Sally Face, but it was a game I was pretty invested in back when I was, like, 13. I still think it's really cool, but I remember the ending being disappointing. I'm really curious as to what the sequel will bring to the table, and I hope it'll sort of revive people's interest in Sally Face, because it's genuinely a pretty cool game that I haven't heard many people talk about in awhile. Also a little bit ago, a trailer for a game called Full Metal Schoolgirl was posted to the Playstation Youtube channel. It looks absurd and up my alley and I hope it sucks, I will be gazing at it from a distance. Some large crumbs from the Funger 2 update made it's way to our plates recently as well. New dungeons seem to be imminent, and coin flips are back ... Miro said "I thought they were bad game design, but people have spoken." This made me laugh very badly. Ha Ha Ha Ha !!!
My oldest sister's lad told me about this game called Expedition 33, and it looks really cool. I've heard crazy amounts of praise for it, lots of 10/10s and number 1s, so I'm inclined to believe it's good LOL ... He told me to play it if I like story driven RPG games, in which I quite obviously do. I might give it a shot sometime, but I'm saving my green up right now for Silent Hill F and OFF. Their releases are imminent! A little bit ago, I was in a pizza place that had an X-Men arcade cabinet at the back of the store, so I just sat there playing it until the pizza came. It was a lot of fun ... everytime I've played around with an arcade cabinet I remember it quite clearly, there's just something a bit special about it.
My Project Sekai adventures continue still, and I'm starting to nearly exclusively play on Expert. I've even full combo'd a few songs! Laddies, are you PROUD?! A Persona 5 collab with Project Sekai will be releasing soon as well, which made me flip a marble and lose a table at such a crossover. It's perfect, just for me ... the people at Sega did this just for me. Lol. I also found out over these weeks that Beatmania has little DJ characters to its name, sort of like Pop'n Music. They're really cool, I added some of my favorite ones to the collage on my index page. :3
I've started up Elden Ring and Persona 2 EP again after some time, and I remain stuck on bosses in both. Still on Maliketh in Elden Ring, and Joker Noriko has my party wiped in EP ... I'm getting to Maliketh's second phase pretty consistently, but his anime back flips are painful. With earlier Persona games, I feel like it's just so horribly easy to be underleveled and with doo doo personas. I have to grind up for hours before I'm able to put a significant dent in this lass ... wish me luck, people and guy1, guy2, guy3.
I still have 2000 Deltarune theories to share, but I'm about dead asleep and I wanted to have a log up for July, so that is for next time. When is next time? ... Tomorrow, a month from now, who knows. Lololol. Bye brotatos :3
