I always heard of fabled "OTPs" on the internet in my days, yet I never really could pinpoint one that I liked enough to label ONETRUEPAIRING until a real beautiful night and its subsequent aftermath. Coilshot is just really funny inherently because it's a roblox ship, you can't take it for seriousness completely, so a lot of my fond memories with Coilshot was actually me and my "mysterious bro," whoever that is, making joke art for it. At the start of the Coilshot reign between the two of us, we were planning a collaborative serious Coilshot drawing, and I don't know who started it but someone started drawing poop everywhere and it made me laugh so hard I genuinely nearly puked. I'm not kidding that's the one time in my life laughing had almost brought me to puking on my keyboard. I AM NOT 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't get me wrong, I also do genuinely seriously like the ship, because dog x cat = cool+cute, but the humorous memories and humor potential are palpable. That's why it's OTP. There's a million ships I like, but none else have the award of making me almost puke one time. Ah, but, well, my mysterious friend and I have a magnum opus relating to this ship too, actually. I won't spoil it, but that video is probably the most responsible for the love and prosper I hold for Coilshot. It's why Demi Lovato is playing on this page, if you have autoplay enabled. That mysterious friend, whoever that is, and I stayed up well into the night making that video, the joke went too far. But it has a lot of love poured into it. It's become an iconic piece in the gallery of our friendship.
Conclusion: I like Coilshot enough to make a shrine for it because I have a lot of funny memories making joke art of it with my bro, alongside also unironically just finding it a cool&funny&cute dynamic.
